Maneki was standing outside of the entrance to the Pendulum room. This was an amazeing aspect of the lookout. Your spirit is taken to the past, you can face someone from the past. Their is no risk to losing in the room as your spirit is just sent back to your body. Right now he was waiting for mokoto to join him.

He guided himself and Makoto iilnto the room !nd a sleep like state was induced. When they awoke, they were in the ruins of a city and infront of them was a wariior of unimaginable power..."Broly."
