Bear Theif (Quest) Empty
PostSubject: Bear Theif (Quest)   Bear Theif (Quest) EmptyMon Sep 26, 2011 3:33 am

Kurama had awoken early so that he could get a decent workout in before breakfast, he had a feeling that today, he was going to need it. As he ran through the forest at break-neck speeds dodging trees and leaping over large rocks he noticed something unusual, a human walking through the woods. He lept into a tree a few yards behind the human to observe what he was doing this far into the woods all alone. However the human stopped and looked around, almost as if he could sense that someone was watching him. After a few more moments he stopped and turned away, walking back in the direction he had came.
"That was odd" Kurama thought to himself.

After running through the woods for a while Kurama still couldn't get that human off of his mind. "I've never seen a human venture that deep into the woods alone before, what could he have been doing?" At the end of his workout Kurama had returned to his cottage he called home on the outskirts of town and made himself a nice large bowl of oatmeal and turned on the television. After flipping through the channels for a while he finally decided to stop at the news, where the top story was how a wild bear had been rummaging through town, stealing people's food and jewelry. The newscasters attributed this bizarre behavior on some type of climate change, and the bear is attracted to shiny objects, which is why it was taking jewelry as well as food.

Later that as the sun was setting Kurama was still thinking about that human he saw in the woods earlier, "He had to be doing something, that's the only explanation" he said thinking out-load. Finally he had decided to return to the spot where he had first saw the human. "Now he was right about here when he stopped, so whatever he was looking for had to be in this direction." Kurama continued on the path until he came to a large oak tree that blocked his path. As he examined it he noticed a strange outline near the base of the tree looking almost like a small door. Curious, he pushed gently in the center of the outline, and a part of the tree swung open. Immediately a bright light emerged from the tree, shielding his eyes from the brightness Kurama saw that there was a large pile of various sorts of jewelry lying on the ground, as well as a diverse amount of food.
"So this is where the bear has been hording everything it's been stealing"

But then Kurama noticed something else, pinned to the inside of the tree was what appeared to be the hide of a bear, outfitted so that it could be worn as a costume. And then he realized what had been going on, "That human must be stealing from the people in town, and he wears this bear costume so people will think it's a wild animal that's robbing them. I've got to let everyone know about this" he as he stood up. But before he could turn around he heard a voice which said, "I'm afraid I can't let you do that."

Standing behind him was the human he had seen earlier, "You see it's pretty easy to get away with stealing when you can just blame it on some wild animal, and if I let you go, well, you'd ruin everything. Funny, I've never seen you in town before, guess that means nobody will be looking for your body after I'm through with you." The human reached behind his back and lifted his shirt up to reveal a small handgun and had pointed it at Kurama, only standing a few yards away. "You're just one unlucky bastard" the human said as he began to take a step closer. It was then a smirk began to appear on Kurama's face. "What's so funny?!" the human said. "It's funny," Kurama began, "because you're the unlucky one."

Before the human could pull the trigger, Kurama had darted to the right, getting out of the line of fire. Startled at how fast Kurama was, the human tried to point the gun at Kurama again, but by that time he was already inches in front on him, grabbing the human's hands and lifting the gun into the air, when the human pulled the trigger. The shot echoed through the empty forest, "Human's go missing in the woods all the time," Kurama said, "it's a shame they'll never be able to find your body."

Fear grew in the human's eyes, knowing now the grave mistake he had made. Before the human could beg for his life, Kurama kneed the human hard in the stomach, causing him to let go of the gun and double over. Kurama grabbed the human's head with both his hands and gave another hard knee to the human's face, this time knocking him on his back. His face covered in blood, the human began to slowly crawl backwards, attempting to get to his feet, the human stumbled and fell over again. Kurama watched as the human began to stagger away, dazed and confused, he knew the human wouldn't be able to find his way out of the woods, at least not now in the middle of the night.

Turning around Kurama looked once more at the impressive collection of jewelry and food that the human had collected. With a smirk on his face Kurama said, "Looks like christmas came early for me this year" as he began to fill his pockets with some of the stolen jewelry. "I'll just consider this commission for bringing that evil man to justice." And with that he returned home, ready for a good nights sleep.
